Mahakala is a protection god in asia, they often have many arms and ward of evil spirits and demons, the typically stand guard in templs or used to ward off evil spirits in homes.
In my piece he is devouring a demon, a throwback to Giya's Saturn devouring child by Goya.
Its an interesting myth with a strong imagry, I am attracked to esoteric art, so any excuse to sculpt something in this realm is good for me.
How long have you been sculpting? What is your artistic background and style?
Over 10 years, I started in VFX & now transitioning to full-time fine artist.
How long did it take to create the piece? What tools / software did you use for your creation? Any insight on your process?
Aprox a week, I did two variantions. Zbrush was the tool of choice for sculpting this piece.
Is this piece for sale? How can a fan acquire it?
